Zora & Nicky- A Novel in Black and Whiteby Claudia Mair-Burney This novel surely is one of the best reads I have had in a long time. It is not only a love story but a tale of concealed racism and the struggles of developing a mixed race relationship. Mair-Burney cleverly and eloquently writes this story from each of the two main characters perspectives, alternating between the two to narrate their version of the story. The plot kept me gripped from the get go and despite the abnormal circumstances of the characters; Zora is the daughter of a black self-proclaimed Bishop and incredibly gorgeous and rich and Nicky is the son of a white Southern Baptist Preacher and extremely good looking and poor, I was compelled to read to the end to find out whether Nicky and Zora would get together or not - I invite you to do the same.
