- The Life and Vision of Brother Roger of Taizé

by Kathryn Spink

First published in 1986, this edition has the edition of an Epilogue added after Brother Roger’s death. Kathryn Spink has brought the story of Taizé up to date, recording Brother Roger’s violent death in August 2005 and the appointment of the successor of his choice, Brother Alois. Whether you have read this book before or not, it is a rewarding read. The vision of this humble man, his quiet influence in so many parts of the world, the Brothers of the Taizé family now found living with the poorest of the poor throughout the world, the many people, particularly the young, who travel to Taizé for peace and refreshment, all these stories accentuate the purpose – following Christ’s teaching whatever denomination we belong to reinforcing the truth that we are one Church and that we should work together in Christ’s name.
