Words For Today 2011

A year of Fresh Perspectives on the Bible

Edited by Nicola Slee

GoodBookStall Review:
Having spent a sabbatical in New Zealand the editor has introduced unfamiliar writers from those parts into this years notes, sharing the space with more familiar names such as Jim Cotter, Anthony Reddie and John Henson. Following help as to how to use your quiet time, the readings are set out in the usual way with a passage for the Sunday preparing us for the following week and introducing us to the contributor together with a photograph of them which I always think is helpful; then follows daily references for Bible reading, and a passage summing this up, concluding with a short sentence or quotation to ponder upon during the day. The contributors introduce new thoughts and opinions to stimulate us into responses that will deepen our understanding of our faith. Time and time again we are given a fresh perspective on familiar passages.
