GoodBookStall Review:
As soon as you pick this book up you know it’s been made for young people to enjoy. The squashy hardback vinyl cover makes the book gentle to hold whilst maintaining a quality feel to it – the sort of book you’ll be glad to know won’t get damaged easily.
The level of the language worked amazingly well for my 5 year old to read the stories to her 3 year old brother, but also to enjoy listening to me read them to them both.
The book focuses on 10 stories that are child-centred, including The boy in the basket, The Shepherd boy, Jairus’ daughter and The boy who shared his lunch.
The stories are well adapted to the younger audience to enjoy, but reflect well the Bible we all know.
Each story is quite long, but can work well as a bedtime story, if children are used to being read to, with pictures that invite comment along the way.
I would also recommend this book as a gift to parents of a new-born, for them to be able to read to the baby as it becomes used to the parents’ voices.
