I confess I am not a cat person, and I had to imagine myself watching my daughter’s cats over the years. It was not difficult to picture their behaviour and why the prayers that Herbert Brokering wrote came into his mind. The left hand page has thoughts as if by a cat and on the right hand page the prayer that this thought gave birth to. I read with pleasure and understanding. A cat lover would get even more from this collection I am sure. The black and white illustrations are just right, and who could fail to smile at the appealing picture of the kittens on the last pages!
