GoodBookStall Review:
Genoa Bay is a real place – see www.vancouverisland.com It is worth a look on the website as is just as I had imagined it to be.
Brandy is a young US Navy widow with a young daughter. She has been struggling to continue living among her Navy family friends in Florida but it is not easy. News of her old friend Maggie’s illness sends her hurrying north to British Columbia, to Genoa bay, where she spent so many happy years as a teenager. When Maggie, the friend and mentor dies, Brandy is surprised to learn that she is the sole beneficiary of Maggie’s estate.
Thus starts a new life for Brandy and ‘Maggie’s Place’, but not without seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Bit by bit we learn of Brandy and Maggie’s past lives and as the story develops it becomes a page turner. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
