I am tempted into hyperbole about this little (less than 120 pages) book. If you wish to educate your congregation, yourself, any theology students you happen to know or new enquirers, about the use of the Bible in the Eucharist and beyond, then I believe this is the book with which to start.
The writers are lucid, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about their subjects and would encourage others to be similarly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the whole Bible, not just the NT: one of the subjects dear to my heart! The combination of the articles by Jo Bailey Wells and Gordon Mursell should have people rushing to their Bible in order to ‘discover’ the Old/First Testament; Joy Tetley and Andrew Gregory give us keen insight into the Christ of the Eucharist through Hebrews and the Gospels.
