Autumn Leave
A Season in France
by Michelle Guinness
GoodBookStall Review:
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Michelle Guinness and her husband Peter spent his three month sabbatical living in the home they purchased in France – the culmination of a long held dream. Intending to retire there eventually, they plan for the future but are very soon embroiled in local animosities and a tangled web of property boundary disputes. Michelle tells these stories with humour and affection but her descriptions of French bureaucracy would make you weep if you did not laugh! Local characters people this entertaining account but Peter and Michelle are themselves the central characters. Now I want to hear more!
