GoodBookStall Review:
We live in a world which is all too ready to complain and whinge. This timely book subtitled Growing a sense of Gratitude written by two respected theologians is a series of reflections considering the possibilities of being grateful to God (‘Alleluia Moments’) in both the joys and pains of life.
Each chapter is self-contained and highly readable but worth taking at a slow pace to allow time for the sifting of ideas and perceptions to change.
Some of the chapters take as their starting point various contemporary issues such as Division, Difference, Peace and Faith whilst others start with the Biblical stories in Genesis and Exodus but relating them to life today. What the authors are keen to explore is how being aware of Alleluia Moments in our lives, even in the difficult parts, can lead to a greater vision and experience of the loving nature of God.
As I read this book, I felt profoundly grateful to God that he had enabled these authors to write this mind-stretching yet practical book.
