Rahab

Encountering the Woman Snatched from Destruction

by Chris Hughes

GoodBookStall Review:
Rahab the prostitute - why would God want to speak about such a wanton woman? Well this study takes us through the character of this call-girl from Jericho, who is so important that she is mentioned a further three times in the New Testament in relation to the histories of the Old Testament. Hughes guides us through this study to discover why this woman was such an essential individual to God in fulfilling His purposes.
The eleven chapters are ideal to study as a group or on your own. As there is more than one piece of scripture to look at per study I would have found it easier to have studied in a group, so the verses could have been read out by others. I don’t like to-ing and fro-ing around the Bible and would prefer the scripture already printed out for me in the study guide.
That aside, I got a really good insight into Rahab and how she was part of God’s overall plan, and her significance in the Bible to teach us a variety of things, from God’s appraisal of her to what God had in store for her and to the promises God kept for her. It is well worth studying.
