Radical Love In a Broken World
by Ron Nikkel
GoodBookStall Review:
In his devotional, Radical Love In a Broken World, Ron Nikkel conveys the necessity of bringing light to the dark places and living radically for God. People around the globe are in hopeless and dismal situations, and need to hear the good news of God's grace and love. Nikkel believes that, as Christians, it is our duty to bring hope to these broken and needy souls. He feels it can be done through prayer, financial support, direct witnessing, while underpinned with contemporary technology.
The importance of ‘being’ the good news and avoiding judgments is where Nikkel begins. He continues by discussing hope and living justly, mercifully, and humbly. The book is a compilation of devotions that are sectioned into six parts according to specific themes. As the president of Prison Fellowship International, Nikkel has a lot of experience in loving folks who feel broken and abandoned. This work reflects the years of listening to stories. The heartbeat of this title is Ephesians 5:1: ‘Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love.’ Christians should be active in loving others and caring for their needs. The book is well-written and engaging and it explains many topics that would benefit Christians who desire to have a more hands-on approach to reaching the lost for Christ. Excellent, emotive and engaging for individual or group use.
