An ideal book for young children to be introduced to Women who have taken risks in pursuit of their faith in God. First a short piece setting the scene and explaining who the ‘Risktaker’ is, then a story about them which explains what risks they took. They are Katherine de Bora who became Martin Luther’s wife, Fidelia Fiske who went to Persia, Amy Carmichael who ended up in India, Lillian Dickson in Formosa now known as Taiwan, and Deborah and Jehosheba from the Bible. With enough facts to satisfy, but hopefully to arouse interest in finding out yet more. A ‘devotional thought’ accompanies each piece and there is a Quiz at the back to see if you have learnt from your reading, and a glossary to refer to if you did not understand a particular word.
