| Reader review: - Andrew Lacey, Manager GLO Bookshop, Motherwell We had the privilege of welcoming Tom Lennie to the GLO Centre some months ago to share his insights & research into the history of revival in Scotland. This book gives an insight into the reason why Scotland became known as ‘Bible-loving’, based on the significant revivals of the 17th & 18th Century. Some of these revivals are quite well known- many seem to have been forgotten, and all credit is due to Tom and his diligent research in bringing the excitement & challenge of those days back to us. A fascinating aside was his relating of the revival of the early 1900s in Motherwell- raising the likelihood that our own building (which was commissioned in 1910) was at least partially built in response to the influx of new Christians. |
