If you're looking to run a holiday club for your 5 to 11 year olds, then this new Scripture Union material could be a real answer to your prayers. Based on stories about Peter from the book of Acts, it explores how knowing Jesus changed his life, and then how he and his friends started to change the world. It follows the tried and tested format to previous Scripture Union holiday club programmes, which is helpful for those who've done clubs before, but for those who are completely new to it all, the material covers all the areas that you'll need to explore, from how to even begin thinking about planning a holiday club, to providing helpful hints and tips, on a very practical level, both during and after the club. It's informative and it's also a great resource pack, giving not only games and craft ideas, which are linked into the daily bible teaching, but also activity sheets, songs, music, prayer, and drama ideas to help you on your way. At first glance, you may feel a little overwhelmed with the amount of material, but be reassured, it won't take you long to find your way around, and pick the bits that will work with your group.
Other additional materials which work alongside the programme book are the Rocky's Plaice DVD, £19.99, which is great for the daily storytelling episodes, additional resources and especially the team training feature, which is great if you're new, or in need of a quick recap; and Rocky's Menu, £1.99 which is a super fun booklet for the children, full of puzzles, challenges and more importantly, the bible texts from the week.
