GoodBookStall Review:
At a time when the earth and all of God’s Creation are under threat as never before, the Church is often accused of not giving enough emphasis to this problem. Creation and the Natural Environment are often only the subject of a small number of ‘special services’. In this book, Christopher Voke outlines the problems of making Creation part of the mainstream of worship and stresses the impact this is having on both believers and non-believers. He gives a clear Theological grounding to his arguments and then goes on to offer suggestions as to how those leading worship can meet the challenges they face in incorporating Creation into everyday liturgy. He argues that “Christian worship needs a consciously placed ‘frame’ of creation themes” within contemporary worship. Unlike many books appearing at this time, this is not a book which just bemoans the fact of humanities uncaring use of our world; he offers practical ideas and thoughts that will help all who lead worship.
A book to be commended and recommended as a resource for all who lead (and those who take part in) worship in our world today.
