GoodBookStall Review:
For the reprinting of what are now scarce documents from past centuries this book merits a place on many a bookshelf. Its remit is much wider than everything that the word ‘mission’ implies, and the book’s sub-title makes this clear: A Documentary History of Inculturation. In recent times ‘Christian engagement with the non-Christian world ....was no longer an engagement that depended on creating a Western political, economic, and cultural framework for the gospel,’ the author asserts, and the documents marshalled by him seek to prove the point. They tell a fascinating tale which involves and affects all churches.
