The Nativity Story

Novelization by Angela Hunt of film written by Mike Rich

GoodBookStall Review:
If you have seen the film, then read the book! This seems a little the wrong way round, but the book is based on the original screenplay by Mike Rich and the film is now on general release. This story is based on the scriptural account of the birth of Christ, the miracles and the mysteries which surround that well know story of the Gospels. The prologue of the book starts the adventure – a nativity play, the eager young cast, the excitement and yet the wonder of what the story really was all about. The book tells the story in such a way as to improve the narrative, if that were possible. The background behind the story is put into perspective, the cruelty of ancient monarchies, and the reluctance of the local populace, the wonder of Mary when visited by an angel and the firm resilience of Joseph, when tradition and culture almost overruled his heart. This book is worth reading, not just another Christmas story that will be forgotten, but a guiding star to all who wish to revisit the nativity of Jesus with fresh eyes and an enquiring mind.
