Terry Young's approach to the book of Daniel is different. He does not attempt to focus on the narrative stories - the lions' den, the fiery furnace and the others that we tend to tell to children, nor does he approach the visions and prophecies in the second half of the book as a separate topic. Rather, he takes an integrated and very practical approach to Daniel's life and looks at it as a single piece. He sees Daniel as an excellent example of someone who walks close to God and pursues a secular career. The result is a wide-ranging book with many practical lessons for daily living. If you are looking for a managerial role model you will find it here. If you want to understand Daniel's prayer life too, this book will help you do that. And at the end of each chapter there are useful and down-to-earth questions and suggestions to help you think things through. I can thoroughly recommend this book.
