GoodBookStall Review:
An amazing story of faith and utter trust that God will supply all needs if you follow exactly his guidance.
Robin and Joyce Hill had no intention of remaining in China when Robin’s firm required him to move on. God had other ideas!
This is the story of the years that followed. Of building up a home to take in, care for and love abandoned, often disabled or seriously ill, babies who would otherwise be left to die, Hope Foster Home. Despite a great deal of support for the Hills, this venture was taken over by others, but undaunted the Hills began again and New Hope Foster Home was built. Those few words are just the bare bones of the story. Elizabeth Gifford has fleshed the story out with much more detail, with compassion and deep understanding of the huge problems the Hills overcame, personal and with the authorities. They put their lives and the lives of the little ones into God’s hands and our great God did not fail them.
This is a heart-warming and ongoing story; a tear jerker in places, emotions must have run incredibly high in the Homes at times, the reader cannot help but respond, but there are times of great rejoicing too, so much has been achieved.
I had previously read Mary Beth Chapman’s book Choosing to SEE and when the Chapman family come to visit the Hills yet more possibilities emerge from the meeting.
Highly recommended.
