50 Sketches About Jesus
Great Ideas series
by David Burt
GoodBookStall Review:
Part of Kingsway's 'Great Ideas' series, the clue is in the title with this book! 50 sketches which centre around the person and work of Jesus, fully indexed by subject, category and scripture, and packed with ideas ripe for the picking! 'Beef stew without dumplings' is an entertaining portrayal of the story of Mary and Martha, 'Loadsalove' provides a challenging look at the nature of real love from 1 Corinthians 13, and 'Feeding the Five Million ' is an original look at Jesus' miracle feeding of the five thousand guaranteed to have you squirming in your seat! Some of the cultural references are now a little outdated, which is potentially limiting, although with a bit of imagination, most could easily be adjusted (indeed some sketches make specific provision for this). It's also worth bearing in mind that some sketches will require more preparation than others, but there is something here to suit groups at every level. Enjoy!
