Although St Benedict addressed his Rule to cloistered monks, it has still something important to say fifteen hundred years later. Don Lapponi tells us how the monks lived by Benedict’s rules and how we can use them as models for family living and individual fulfilment. As well as teaching us how to live in charity and peace, the rules are full of practical advice on how we should work, eat, dress, pray and talk to one another. This is very much a topical book, relevant to our problems today. It is a book full of wise and sane advice and should be read by all who care about the family, both Christian and secular.
