Freddie Freckles is a delightful character created by Fr Buckley to help him explain Christian messages to children. Freddie has all sorts of experiences good and bad, and the black and white illustrations fill a whole page and are ideal for holding up to show a group of children to whom the story is being told. So long as the storyteller is familiar with the story, it does not have to be read word for word, Fr Buckley has given these ideas with the hope that you will adapt them for different seasons and needs. Freddie and his friend Peter Pickles are perfectly normal young boys, doing everyday things and the stories could be read and enjoyed by children for themselves but so much better if they are used as Fr Buckley has done so successfully for years. Notes are given at the beginning of each story to help with this.
