The first edition of this book was produced in 1995, and it comes from an American Roman Catholic perspective (indeed, its author was once a priest). The book describes and examines the major questions and issues surrounding deliverance: the distinction between (the more common) demonisation or infestation, and (the more serious) possession; the relationship between demonisation and mental illness; the individual nature (and effects) of different kinds of spirits/infestation; whether Christians can or can not be demonised; who should be doing what in the deliverance ministry (normally involving the fraught question of authority); means and methods; deliverance of places, etc. Chapter 27 concerns the problematic issue of satanic ritual abuse (SRA). Being practical as well as theoretical, it concludes with some suitable prayers.
