GoodBookStall Review:
What a delight! I had already fallen in love with the stories of the Bjorklund family from previous books, and fell upon this one as soon as it arrived, starting to read as soon as I could. New comers would be able to pick up the story by using the family tree at the front, but I must confess, I was glad to have read previous books and to know most of the characters before I started.
Astrid still lives at home, helping her mother and learning as much as she can from her sister-in-law Dr Elizabeth. She has learnt a lot and can deliver babies and help with complicated surgery as well as lesser injuries to her neighbours. Her mother who has brought much knowledge of herbal treatment from her homeland of Norway also teaches Astrid, but she and Dr Elizabeth feel that Astrid should go to the hospital where Dr Elizabeth trained to further her knowledge. Should Astrid leave all she loves, - and Joshua, who has returned to Blessing with obvious feelings for her? Things do not run smoothly!
