GoodBookStall Review:
Lacy is the youngest of the three sisters who are the main characters in this trilogy. She is the tom-boy of the family, the one who is happiest in masculine clothes, doing masculine things, though helping with the running of the family business. She is beautiful and has been loved for some time by a neighbour’s son, Dave Shepard, who is the deputy sheriff for Gallatin Crossing, Montana, but when they are together, sparks fly and Lacy cannot forgive Dave for not finding their father’s killer. For Lacy is absolutely convinced he was killed deliberately. Times are changing all around Gallatin Crossing. People moving in, others moving away; the worry about where the railroad will come through, for it will most definitely come and will affect all their lives, the story weaves to and fro coming to a satisfying conclusion.
