This is a re-working of My Very First Christmas published and reviewed in 2006. Lois Rock has written very simple text telling the stories of Gabriel appearing to Mary and to Joseph, then travelling to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus, the coming of the shepherds and later, the wise men. Alex Ayliffe’s paper-cut illustrations are delightfully expressive although so simple. An excellent introduction to the story for a very little one.
