The Easter Angels
by Bob Hartnman, illustrated by Sophy Williams
GoodBookStall Review:
Now this is different! This is the story of the two angels at the tomb of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. A Guardian Angel who had watched Jesus death on the cross and longed to save him, the other a shadow of an angel, the Angel of Death, was fearful that he had to bring death to someone else; though very aware of the suffering the loss of anyone can be to their families and friends. To their surprise their mission was one of joy. One was to roll away the stone at the entrance to the tomb, the other to tell the approaching women the news of the resurrection of Jesus. Sensitively told and illustrated, this story particularly appealed to me.
