New Shoes
Stepping Out of the Shadow of Sexual Abuse and Living Your Dreams
by Rebecca Mitchell
GoodBookStall Review:
Rebecca Mitchell has ‘been there’, she knows what she is talking about and having stepped into her own New Shoes is now helping others to do the same.
I have not ‘been there’, so came to this book with scant knowledge, but with the awareness that people I have known are still suffering years later and need a book like this.
The author has been supporting others for many years and in that time has helped herself too. This book has chapters that deal with many emotions, shame, memories, anger, co-dependency, sexual ambivalence, forgiveness. All strong, powerful influences on a life. She talks through these and other subjects offering guidance and practical ideas in a very readable and supportive way interspersed with anecdotes about women suffering these emotions to help our understanding.
At the end of the book is a comprehensive list of where to find further support in the UK, for men and women alike.
