Songs of Praise Book of Prayer
by Andrew Barr
GoodBookStall Review:
As in other titles of this series, this year’s book is a very personal compilation by Andrew Barr, who writes from a life-times experience and seems to be addressing you , the reader, as if in conversation; a very readable style. There are twenty chapters with such varied heading as ‘Prayer and Broadcasting’ to ‘The Creed’. Each has reminiscences and meditations on the theme by the author and include ancient and more recently written prayers, many from hymns, The Book of Common Prayer, and other books he has read. Older people will empathise with much of what the author writes, younger readers will learn much to their advantage and all will enjoy this book.
