GoodBookStall Review:
Set in the months soon after the end of the American Civil War, this is the account of three men who are making the long journey home to their families. Their dreams are of settling down, drinking sweet tea and eating homemade pie and nothing, it seems, will divert them from their path. But on their way, they come across a plantation where fire is tearing through dry cotton fields and three young women caught in the blaze who seem desperate to escape something.
This story is a gentle read, a telling of the lives of six different people who believe they have been brought together by chance but who come to realise that perhaps God has had a hand in their meeting and the weaving together of their lives. If you enjoy a good romance and the story of an awakening faith in God, then you will probably like this one.
