GoodBookStall Review:
1st edition published 1996
Nurture is the main stage of the Emmaus Course, designed to help people move on from knowing nothing about the Christian faith to becoming established as a new Christian in the life of the Church.
This second edition has been fully revised and now includes a welcome CD-ROM with a wealth of support material. This includes files for concise handouts, which can be downloaded for each member of a group. Previously these were lengthier and could only be photocopied from the book.
Nurture comprises fifteen sessions, each with enough material for one evening. A session contains leader’s notes and handouts referred to above. Leader’s notes have been extensively revised and updated and now include helpful background reading, together with a range of suggestions for other helpful materials. The addition of icons makes it much easier to locate particular passages quickly and improves the appearance of the text.
As a leader, I have found this book a considerable improvement on the first edition and I would recommend it to anyone thinking of running an Emmaus course.
