GoodBookStall Review:
This title dealing with Harry Potter is an essential tool for any youth/children’s work team because regardless of where your church stands or what your personal belief on the subject is, Harry Potter is a core character to our youth. The resource suggests using film clips, but it would be possible to use it without. Each study focuses on a larger morality issue as dealt with in the Potterverse and the key bible passage that it pertains to, and it does it well. The comparisons are spot on, the discussions great. This is a great resource.
This is part of an excellent series of Resources for the 9-13 age range, aimed particularly at the peripherally churched, it is great stuff. Each resource starts with a great introduction that covers the essentials of Children’s Work first and then looks at why this particular subject is being used. The handouts are photocopiable and the sessions are easy to follow for any leader.
