All these events and experiences in the contemporary world are then related to similar events and personalities drawn from the Bible. Scripture, both Old and New Testaments, are the focus and reference point throughout. In this dual approach, balancing the new and the old, Wood gives a fresh slant to the familiar stories of the Bible. He uses the same easy, conversational style in his retelling of the biblical stories which gives them an unexpected impact and significance. Indeed, he is a master storyteller which makes this a book difficult to put down.
