The Song Forever New

Lent & Easter Meditations on Charles Wesley’s Hymns

by Paul Wesley Chilcote

GoodBookStall Review:
A book taking you right through Lent, including the Sundays, through to the end of the Easter octave, and comprising meditations on Charles Wesley's hymns. Each entry consists of a scripture reading, a Wesley hymn and a reflection based on the reading and the hymn, but taking the thoughts wider and further. Details of the music for the hymn tunes are given, but if you aren't able to play or sing them as hymns, don't worry as the poetry comes through to bring the message. Personally, as Lent and Easter is a busy time for many with attendance at Lent groups and church services, I feel these meditations are just the right length to give pause for thought without over stretching the time needed.
