These two volumes are a very welcome addition to the previously published volumes of this series. The title of this series includes the words ‘for Everyone’ for a special purpose, they are not used lightly. On that first morning that Peter spoke to the multi-national crowd of people around him, he said “this promise is for you”, Acts 2.39, so Tom Wright has set out to write his translation and commentary, using his scholarship, but addressing ‘Everyone’ whether scholarly or not. The glossary at the back will help those not sure of the meaning of words and phrases, and the body of the book is in plain easily understood English which is a pleasure to read, and hence can be used alone or in groups, as a Daily reading book, or a book to read through as you wish. However they are used, Tom Wright’s background knowledge will enlighten and help understanding.
