GoodBookStall Review:
Larry Cucumber is excited about chocolate eggs and jelly beans and other Easter treats, so Bob Tomato talks about the real lesson to be learnt at Eastertide and presents a story to explain what he means with all the usual vegetable characters.
Marlee Meade a reporter in Crisper County thinks she is helping others by re-opening a run-down theatre and putting on a show, but it goes spectacularly wrong and the only reason the audience come is to hear Cassie Cassava sing; and the only reason Cassie Cassava is there is because she has been tricked! When Marlee realises her mistake and she and her friends try to get to the sun-rise service Easter morning, they have an unexpectedly exciting journey as their bus is pulled through the deep snow by the robot rabbit from Marlee’s show. (I loved this part and watched it over again!)
Marlee learns that you don’t need to put on an impressive show to help people, just help them with whatever they need. As Tim says, the important thing is ‘Remembering what Jesus did for us and trying to be like him’.
My grandson spotted the DVD on my desk and immediately asked to watch it; he’s IT savvy and watched the various bonus pieces too. Veggietales are always a hit with youngsters of all ages.
