The Road Home
The Story of the Prodigal Son
by J. John
GoodBookStall Review:
Quite a short book, but it holds a powerful message. J. John uses the theme of the ‘prodigal son’ as the basis of his story set in what I imagined to be the Italy at the time of a myriad of separate states. Francis Nutrizio is steward of a large and flourishing estate. In The Road Home Francis relates how his master, a widowed land owner with two sons, behaves when one of them demands his inheritance so that he can explore the wider world. Everyone around is affected in some way, especially at the end of the story. A thought provoking and very worthwhile read.
