Tried by Fire
Testimonies of Courage and Hope from Peru’s Christian Prisoners
Edited & Translated by Anna Lee Stangl
GoodBookStall Review:
The Preface by Anna Lee Stangl of Christian Solidarity Worldwide and the Introduction by Alfonso Wieland, Director of Peace and Hope read with the brief History, set the scene for this book. Not a great work of literature, how can it be, it is a translation of the stories of innocent Christians released from prison after many years of unspeakable hardship, told in their own words. The message that came to me loud and clear, was that they prayed to a Loving Father God, despite their personal difficulties, and felt buoyed up by the knowledge that many people around the world were praying for them too. That Prayer can bring hope in the darkest places, and we can all play a part.
