A Life Worth Living
by Nicky Gumbel
GoodBookStall Review:
For those who had studied the Alpha course, Nicky Gumbel wanted to give a firm biblical footing on which to base their faith. A Life Worth Living is a study of the letter of Paul to the Philippians. In his introduction the author sets the scene of where Philippi was, and how Paul came to be writing to the Christians there, his first European ‘church plant’, in this warm, personal and loving way. Paul’s pleasure shines through his writing, the word ‘joy’ in noun or verb form appears sixteen times in the epistle, yet he was imprisoned and awaiting possible execution. Paul’s words from so long ago can still help us now, to get going in the Christian life.
