If You Want To Walk On Water, You Have Got to get out of the Boat

by John Ortberg

GoodBookStall Review:
Don’t you love this title? When I received the book and saw the quite closely printed pages, I wondered if it would be heavier reading than the title implied. Not at all! Once you start. You’ll find that you have to continue to the last word! I would not have guessed that so much teaching could come out of the short passage in the Bible, where Peter gets out of the boat in a storm, and begins to walk on the water towards Jesus, as Jesus walks on the water towards the disciples. Yes, Peter begins to sink, but even here, there are lessons to be learnt, and he did try. He did get out of the boat. If we want our lives to be changed, we have to ‘get out of the boat’ as well.
