John Pritchard writes in his ‘Word at the Beginning’, “…please don’t use these intercessions!” This made me smile, but it is a heartfelt plea. Following on from his first book he has developed the themes and offers these new suggestions for the individual or group to change to suit their own situations, to give them in the author’s words: your own ‘voice’. There are Intercessions for mainstream worship, At festivals and special occasions, In informal worship and small groups, With children and young people and In personal prayer. The helpful advice and suggestions at the beginning of each section make so much sense. This book is going to help those used to leading intercessions but particularly those who have not done so before and are nervous of doing so.
