GoodBookStall Review:
One of the beautiful books in this series which includes titles such as Creation, Incarnation, and Resurrection. Alistair McGrath skilfully weaves and links old masters paintings with biblical truths and scripture. He has chosen a wonderful selection of paintings, including Jacopo Bassano's The Last supper and Caravaggio's The Taking of Christ, to explore aspects of redemption. Not an easy topic and not a way everyone would naturally use to explore the Bible but McGrath's method and the visual impact of the illustrations certainly gave me new insight into Jesus life and ministry. This book could be used as a method to enhance meditation, as a focus for prayer or as a teaching tool.
