GoodBookStall Review:
This is a very special book, dealing with a subject that touches all of our lives to some degree. Ivan Mann speaks from experience of the suffering in his own life, related to the illness and death of his wife Jackie. However, this book is not only an exploration of one sort of suffering, but covers aspects that I have never dwelt upon before and feel better for having thought about. He quotes from many contemporary and classic writers, whose insights help us to a greater understanding. The author hopes his study will help non-Christians and Christians alike, although as the cover states “this profound book reflects on how suffering may be used in a life of faith.” I found this an exhilarating rather than a depressing book to read.
